When Kurt rules the world…

… I may apply to be Minister of Libraries:

When I am in charge of the world, more libraries like this will be built.  In the search for a book on voles, the student will walk past so many other topics undisplayable in the digital logic of a Google search.  Another book will catch her eye, merit a read and become a new passion.
He will study at an age-darkened wood desk and doodle on paper.
They will stack volumes around them on sturdy tables, marking pages with slips of paper and remembering passages to capture in scribbles on yellow pad drafts of their work.
Maps of faraway places will entice glances and curiosity.
Light and dark will alternate in the hallways while footfalls and whispers will be the only sounds heard.

More here, from Kurt at Cultural Offering.
