Oscar Niemeyer

Brazilian architect, Oscar Niemeyer died yesterday at 104.  The BBC has an article and video here, an obituary here and a set of pictures (from which the above is borrowed) here.

Some of his work is the sort of “future as seen from the 1960s” that Star Trek fans would find comfortably alien.  Other examples are timelessly elegant.
