Coat of Peace – Anna Chromy

This post on the drawing of folds in cloth (from the splendidly titled Temple of the Seven Golden Camels blog) reminded me this haunting sculpture in SalzburgAustria 151.

It’s by Anna Chromy and is called Coat of Peace.  It is a predecessor of the Cloak of Conscience, a 15 foot high, 45 tonne sculpture carved from a single, 250 tonne block of white marble.

Haunting, beautiful and inspiring.
