Opportunities multiply as they are seized

I’m grateful to David Knowles-Leak’s tweet for bringing me to the 12 Most Lasting Leadership Lessons from The Art of War.

It’s a few years since I read Sun Tzu’s Art of War and while all of the 12 selections are thought-provoking, this particularly resonated for me:

“Opportunities multiply as they are seized.”

Like Shakespeare and Machiavelli’s The Prince, the Art of War has survived through the centuries because it is deeply insightful and so remains relevant.  Also, once you strip out all the “value-add” commentary, the original texts are surprisingly succinct.
