“Opening the Aperture of Choice”–Barrie Hopson on The Shift

A brief review of Lynda Gratton’s book, The Shift, from Portfolio Careers’ Barrie Hopson.

I have just passed the “aperture of choice” quote in my own reading of this book and I have to agree with Hopson’s assessment; it’s a well researched, well written book which opens your eyes to the future and to the steps we need to take now to write the personal future we desire.

If you are looking for something else to read, I am still heartily recommending Barrie Hopson and Katie Ledger’s book, And What Do You Do?, to everyone I meet who is considering either a portfolio career or simply an independent, freelance route.  It is a fantastic, step by step guide to thinking through your future.

The two books make a nice pair: here is what’s possible … and here is how to get there.
