Creativity, The Life Path and the “Sex & Cash Theory”

By a mightily circuitous route, via the Blue Monster and the Blue Monster’s champion

…I’ve just discovered the Blue Monster’s progenitor, Hugh MacLeod.  Gapingvoid.com is a blog of off-the-wall cartoons – as drawn on the back of business cards – combined with insightful thoughts and bloggingness.  I loved his most read piece, "How to be Creative" which speaks volumes.  Reaching beyond the bounds of creative work, it is great essay on the compromises of work and life with unexpected resonances with the likes of Charles Handy.  Unexpected bed-fellows.

I particularly liked his "Sex & Cash" Theory – Handy’s Portfolio Career in a memorable nugget.
